These little beauties are focused on uncovering ‘not to be missed’ gems in regional areas, because we’ve got plenty to see and do here in our own backyard, you just need to know where to find these local treasures.
Port Stephens
Although more of an old school family summer holiday destination, if you are after some sun and sand 2.5 hours north of Sydney, Port Stephens offers the intrepid visitor a range of protected blue bays and stunning surf beaches. With a huge proportion of ‘Holiday Parks’ (read camping and caravans), school holidays are squirming with kid laden families. For a more serene experience it’s best to plan outside of these times. Creatures freshly delivered from the sea feature heavily on all menus, with most establishments offering an easy casual atmosphere. Realising a need to keep pace with more bijoux destinations, Port Stephens is trying to up the ante. We are sure it will get there, but until then its natural beauty and unpretentious atmosphere make for a relaxing break.
